Who I Am
I'm Abdelilah Majid, a software engineer based in Morocco. My work spans product engineering, graphics, and low-level systems. I build across the stack, but I care most about clarity, performance, and systems that hold up under real use.
At 1337 Coding School, I ranked 2nd among 300+ students and consistently scored between 100 and 125. That background pushed me into both practical product work and deeper systems projects, from WebSocket multiplayer apps to GPU compute and Verilog.
What I Work On
- Full-stack product engineering: React, Next.js, Flask, Django, PostgreSQL, and real business workflows.
- Graphics and GPU computing: Vulkan, OpenGL, WGPU/WebGPU, compute shaders, ray tracing, and rendering systems.
- Performance engineering: SIMD, cache-aware optimization, parallelism, and profiling-driven improvements.
- Systems and networking: Linux, socket programming, non-blocking I/O, and infrastructure fundamentals.
- Hardware-adjacent work: Verilog, UART, digital logic, and FPGA-oriented practice.
Recent Experience
At Ivynest, I build platform features for UK retrofit and PAS2035 workflow automation, including survey and data modules for evidence-led planning. Before that, at Nommo, I worked on a stock market platform and mobile fintech apps with a focus on real-time interfaces and production delivery.
On the open-source side, I contributed performance optimizations to ThePhysicsGuys' Physics3D engine, using SIMD vectorization to improve throughput by roughly 25%.
How I Work
Build End to End
I can move from backend logic and data models to frontend implementation and deployment without losing context.
Measure Performance
I prefer concrete gains over vague claims, whether that means frame rate, latency, or compute throughput.
Understand the Stack
I like working close to the underlying model, from browser rendering and networking to GPU memory behavior and low-level APIs.
Ship Useful Work
I care about software that is not only technically interesting but also useful to the people depending on it.
